PPP senator Sherry Rehman’s daughter Marvi Malik passes away at 35 | The Express Tribune


KARACHI:

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Sherry Rehman’s daughter, Marvi Malik, passed away at the age of 35 after a brain haemorrhage on Sunday, the family announced.

She had been receiving treatment at a private hospital in Karachi, where she was admitted five days ago. Her condition deteriorated three days before her death, requiring ventilation.

Her funeral prayer is scheduled for Monday at 3:30pm at DHA Phase 8, Karachi, followed by burial in a local cemetery.

President Asif Ali Zardari extended his condolences, praying for her forgiveness and for the family to bear the loss with strength.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the death of a child is an “indescribable grief,” offering heartfelt condolences and praying for her elevated status in the afterlife and patience for the bereaved family.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also conveyed sorrow, offering prayers for her forgiveness and high ranks in the afterlife. Sindh senior minister Sharjeel Inam Memon described the sudden death as devastating and extended condolences to the family, praying for their patience and resilience.

PPP leader Shazia Marri said the news left her “deeply saddened and in shock,” calling the loss “irreparable.” She expressed sympathy for the family and prayed for Marvi Malik’s elevation in the hereafter and strength for her relatives to bear the grief.

Mayor of Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, described the news as “extremely sad” and offered heartfelt condolences to Sherry Rehman and her family. He prayed for Marvi Malik’s forgiveness and elevated status in the afterlife, and for patience for the bereaved family.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi expressed profound grief over the loss, calling it “unbearable” and offering prayers for Marvi Malik’s eternal peace.
